Long ago I formatted directories in #SGML. So big props to James Clark's #DSSSL engine, Jade.

Attribute value omission (bring yer own scarequotes and scarfolks) was never a thing (bring yer own uppercase and exclamation markups). This has been mansplained every other day on Usenet between roughly 1440 and 2014.
