@davidjchavez Saw #Leopoldstadt, which I thought was fantastic, #Shucked, which didn’t have enough character-driven humor, even for a joke-fest of a fable. #SweeneyTodd was great, traditional but with several outstanding performances. My biggest disappointment was Kimberly Akimbo, which I disliked a lot. Too cutesy and way too dark at the same time. Too much unforgivable behavior by Kimberly’s parents, which is ironic given the other shows I saw.

First New York City #theater trip in nearly four years: #Leopoldstadt was a masterpiece. The #SweeneyTodd revival was very good, with outstanding vocals by Josh Groban and a daring, scene-stealing turn by Annaleigh Ashford as Mrs. Lovett. Disappointed in the new musicals. My unpopular opinion is that I really disliked #KimberlyAkimbo. Too much unforgivable behavior and a story that didn’t work for me. #Shucked had too many weak jokes and not enough character, even for a silly fable.
