I'm super excited to say that I am the new SICB Division of Phylogenetics & Comparative Biology Student/Postdoc Rep!
I'll be working with the division & @SICB to put on ECR-focused programming & be a resource for ECRs.
My job in this role is to support YOU: feel free to reach out w/ what the division & I can do for you!
As #SICB2023 ends, I wanted to thank the Executive Officers and Burk Inc for organizing an incredible meeting. This was my first in-person meeting since pandemic shut-down and I am returning after a few days of hard-core nerding-out feeling more scientifically excited and energized than I have in years!
Thrilled to continue being scientifically inspired via #SICB+ in the coming days!
Starting today off with breakfast with a friend before she heads to #SICB. Then putting the finishing touches on my 3rd year review packet. Tell me mastodons, what’s on your plate?
2023 is going to be a special year for JEB as the journal celebrates its 100th anniversary and we're kicking off #JEB100 with a fabulous calendar, showcasing some of the journal's covers from the past. You can see all of the marvelous images at https://journals.biologists.com/jeb/pages/100-calendar don't forget to pick up a copy if you are at the #SICB meeting in January

Check out the post on #ICB_journal blog covering our recent #SICB PAC workshop, "Including Indigenous People in Research and Pedagogy". Panelists Ulrike Muller and Ripan Malhi led the discussion. #DEI
I'm perpetually interested in #sex and #gender in the animal kingdom, and currently #sex-differences are part of my work. (This is partly personal—I am #queer and #GNC — and partly just that I'm fascinated by choices and decisions, and how we all cope with trade offs and restraints.)
I've worked on #leptin in the past and would like to revisit that, and I'm looking forward to hanging with my #neuroendocrinology friends at #SICB this winter.
