Well possibly the #EU now may feel less constrained on what regulations they impose now we in the #UK have no say - but they move slowly and I am not sure it will make much odds most of the really dirty money is from outside #EU jurisdiction anyway.

We always had a #veto as members on anything HMG thought not in our interest - now we don't. But I doubt it is as important to ordinary mortals as #SM and #FOM

I suspect because any suggestion #Labour *might* look at joining #SM would be turned by many into a commitment to do so - both giving #ToriesOut a brexitty stick to beat them with (many potential labour voters still suppport #brexit), and an expectation they cannot reasonably expected to acheive in a single term. The #EU will not countenance a new negotiation with the #UK for several years, except on finessing what is already there

Well I kind of agree in part - upsetting those still grieving #EU exit does not seem to be likely to please them - but I have some sympathy with him - 70% of the press want #starmer to fail & look to trip him up. Even those more neutral want a real story, and being anodyne is not what they want

We have c 18months till next #GE - no need 4 #labour to commit to policy till it is called & I see no purpose even then in promises that cannot be kept like #rejoin or #SM

It would not help win the #GeneralElection - in fact #Labour would shed votes

It would not #reverseBrexit even were #Labour to gain a majority despite such a faux pas - since it iwll be a long time before the #EU will contemplate any approach from the #UK to #rejoin or even accept #SM + #FoM - I reckon more than a parliament

Meantime the row over distinterring #Brexit would prevent sensible harmonisation

Well I think not until #Starmer safely in #DowningSt and #Labour have had a chance to look at the books. I suspect they already have back channels to the #EU about what is possible to discuss in the short term. Without a manifesto commitment #SM with the concommitant #FoM is a no-no, and any inclusion in the #2024LabourManifesto would IMO threaten obtaining a majority/

《西部世界》让我想到韩松的《美女狩猎指南》，基本是美国新农村翻拍版与改革开放魔幻现实主义版的对照。其实小说中“科幻”这个切入点基本上没有展开，倒是适合形成一个以#SM 为主题的长篇⋯⋯（我是不是误会了这些作品 挖鼻）
