It's a little late to say happy birthday 🎂 #SMOS #satellite 🛰️ . The autumn #seaice cover of the #Arctic Ocean can now be observed for the 13th time. It is evident that the sea ice surface is decreasing in the long term due to #climate change, although the last two years have shown some increase compared to previous years.

The daily #SMOS sea ice thickness data was just updated on our AWI server. It usually takes some hours until you find it at the #ESA dissemination system.
