I have to admit, while I have a deep enjoyment of works that play with the fabric of #StarTrek (I worked on a Trek-inspired musical theater production 45 years ago!) and I’ve bitterly swallowed a lot of bad science over the decades, I couldn’t make it through even half of last week’s #SNW.

Damn. Wasn't expecting the dark, serious intensity of this episode. Love that M'Benga and Chapel (two of my absolute favorite #SNW characters) are getting more backstory, and seeing a show that's overall fairly positive flexing in such a challenging direction, directly addressing wartime PTSD. Also super cool as a modern fan to see #Klingons as a genuine Big Bad.

Why, yes. I *did* download the #StarTrek #SNW #StrangeNewWorlds “Subspace Rhapsody” soundtrack, and yes, I’ve listened to it many, many times today. In the car, on headphones, and on home speakers.

Shout out to the #composers for their orchestral and arrangement brilliance. To the cast as well! The vocal/orchestral theme song gives me chills every time I play it.

My favorite? “I’m the X”. Ethan Peck — WOW! Brilliant and heartbreaking at the same time. Second fave: can Romijn sing or what?!

My one complaint....you have singing Klingons and they aren't singing Opera?!? WTH!!!! 😆

Other than that, thoroughly enjoyed it. Kinda crazy that pretty much all the main cast has good pipes.

More brief, unexpected #thunderstorms in the middle of the night. I somehow always awake from sleep before they arrive; maybe it’s the dogs’ anxiety levels, maybe it’s mine, but it’s frakking annoying to be wide awake rn, no matter the source.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thought they did a good job of blending two tonally different shows.
