After almost 2 yrs of #parksontheair activations, I decided to gift myself a #sotabeams Travel Mast. I think I might continue to do #pota for a while. Makes for easy transport for #hamonabike. Will test today when rain stops. #amateurradio #hamradio @SOTAbeams

So much easier and faster to setup than the Sotabeams guying kit several feet up

The CamJam carabiners are pretty slick too, being able to tension all from the center is great

My #sotabeams 7000HDS mast is less than 2" OD and fits in 2" PVC securely but the base is about 2.5". Added a 2" x 4" reducer to the base to make room and a 2" x 3" reducer for the top to make room for the paracord loops

Walked to a local city park today and operated portable #QRP this morning. Good signal reports from WA, MT & ID. The antenna was 41’ of wire straight into the tuner, same for the counterpoise. 20’ #SOTAbeams mast. Lots of fun!
