In just the first few minutes, he’s signaled that members of the GOP should sit when there are announcements of record job creation. Sit while proclaiming democracy is still strong. Sit while giving thanks that fewer people are dying. #SOTU

It was good to see Republicans finally applauding at least some aspects of the speech. Bipartisanship has been killed by them. They should be helping to achieve common goals.

But I couldn't help but notice that members of the GOP did not stand up (or when Susan Collins shook her head in disagreement) when it came to:

1.) lowering the price of medicine like insulin
2.) lowering the cost of child care
3.) lowering the cost of healthcare; making healthcare affordable
4.) expanding community college access 5.) increasing the tax regulations so the rich pay their fair share
6.) expanding U.S. infrastructure away from fossil fuel
7.) expanding the franchise to vote
8.) reforming immigration to include DACA recipients

The above issues are supported by the majority of Americans. I can't help wondering why these issues don't matter to people such as Susan Collins or Joe Manchin (who did applaud some when the camera panned to him but has sunk this whole agenda). #SOTU
