I knew Social Security Administration was out of date but this is ridiculous.

When its the 5th, 2 days after pay day, and you are already broke after only paying bills. I still gotta get gas, go do laundry, then whatever other random things come up before Jan 3 when I'm paid again. I tell ya, being disabled is nowhere near as lucretive as the right wingers would lead you to believe. Do you know how much a COUPLE can make when on assistance? Only 500 more than a single person can. And that's just for people whose income is protected via #SSDI (we lose all assistance outside of income), people on #SSI risk losing EVERYTHING just by being married.

#SSDI and #SSI keep people in poverty or stuck in abusive relationships.

This is my #Introduction post. I’ve decided to make my home here among people like me. I’ve been #Disabled and on #SSDI since 2003. A couple years back, I got my proper dx of #PTSD (#cptsd, really) and #DID so at least I know why I am the way I am. The DID has made my life interesting and I’m still doing intensive trauma work in therapy to figure it out. #ComplexTrauma is no joke. I also like my #Cats, #RedSox, #NJDevils, #ToriAmos, #Tech, #Reddit and #MedicalMarijuana, among other things.
