"we have the absurdity of ministers introducing new powers to unilaterally impose minimum service levels during strikes, when the NHS and the Fire and Rescue Service often cannot maintain a decent service on an ordinary day – precisely because of cuts imposed by this government"
"The public expects the government to treat these talks seriously - it's time they got on with it."
Talking about "productivity" in the context of acute care outcomes suggests a certain insincerity of purpose.

I'm going to be cutting my food with a plastic ruler tomorrow because I can't risk using a knife as we've got NO AMBULANCES AND NO NURSES and I live in a fucking disaster of a country now. #uk #ukpolitics #strikes
The #Tory government of the UK has completely abdicated its responsibility to safeguard the health & wellbeing of people in this country.
It was basically a #Brexit government, elected to finish off the final bit of that fiasco.
Well that's done. They should call a #GeneralElection now so the #strikes can be resolved by a fresh government with a mandate to renew the country.

"With regard to public sector pay, the government has chosen to pursue what is, in effect, an aggressive and unpopular incomes policy. But it lacks the courage to be upfront about it."

'Opponents to strike action have their voices amplified to the point of absurdity – memorably, one man was given a long interview to express disappointment that he wouldn’t be able to see his son at Christmas because of the strikes, whereupon people were quick to point out there was a bus he could use, and he was removed from the story with a correction that his travel plans were, in fact, “unlikely to be affected by the strikes”.'

This is a perfect example of how tying #healthcare to employment is a way of disciplining #labor and punishing #strikes. Healthcare is a human right.

Mike Lynch is just a normal decent straight forward guy.
What he has shown is how low our journalism and politician standards have sunk over the last few years of Tory rule.
