Hey, #trekkies of Mastodon, I'm gonna ask you to do better than this initial response.

#STTNG had some real problems with racist tropes its first couple of seasons, and trying to give the redshirt trope equal weight, when red shirts weren't even security at this point in #StarTrek, is ignorant.

@noracodes I have found Google Assistant to be much more sensitive than Alexa.

If I'm listening to a podcast in my car and somebody says "OK" it often wakes Google, even though the podcaster never said "Google" after OK.

Just fucking dumb technology with limited real-world value.

Furthermore, any episode of #STTNG would have shown either company how to properly implement a wake word.
