I've come across extremely weird stuff while reading the Sagas. One of the most perplexing of these is a name that pops up in Sturlunga Saga.

> Ólafur Höskuldarson chaim

Why is he called chaim? No one knows.

For modern eyes it looks Hebrew but was that the intent?

It is almost certain that this was a real person. Unlike the Sagas which deal with the Settlement of Iceland, Sturlunga is near contemporary.

I have attached a fraction which gives an idea about the nature of these letters.

Still doing Völsunga Saga.

There is a line that suddenly mentions a daughter that Brynhildur (the shield-maiden) and Sigurður (the dragon slayer) had together. It seems really out of place and might have been added by a later scribe. The weird thing is that it makes Sigurður look like a massive liar.

I know WHY it was put in there. This daughter needs to exist because Ragnar Loðbrók marries her in another Saga.

Völsunga Saga.

Guðrún has a dream that she asks Brynhildur to interpret. The latter's interpretation is a precise summary of the next part of the story.

They go on and keep getting surprised when those exact things actually happen.

I'm looking for material on how to deal with the evolution of long-running (). For example, assume that a process had a chain of E1 -> C1 -> E2 -> C2 -> E3, but now evolves to E1 -> C1 -> E2.1 & E2.2 -> C2 -> E3. How to deal with all active process instances?

While writing a book, I have been taking inspiration from the long traditional histories and mythologies of the cultures and Northern cultures.

I found some translations of the Poetic/Elder Edda and a few of the on Archive.org and on Gutenberg.org, but... They needed improvement so that they were readable. They are works, so I downloaded them and set to editing.

While editing the Edda, I realized that the I had was - 1/2
