I'm thinking it must be regional. I'm in the prairies and have never heard of it.

Saskatchewan has - or had - an unusual local expression which I don't think was ever used outside the province. What are commonly called "hoodies" in many places were, for reasons unknown to me, universally known as "bunnyhugs" here. I think it's less common now, but still known.

We received our new #Green #Bin this week, for the City of #Regina's new #municipal #composting program. Hey, only 20 years behind the small town my parents lived in back then, not too bad.

Also with the bin, you get a plastic bucket with a tight-fitting lid and a handle, to use in your house for #kitchen #waste, so you can "save up" scraps and not have to run out to the bin after every meal prep etc.

So far, not so bad.

Pleased to meet you! I'm a small-city Canadian movie fan. I love Australian and New Zealand movies particularly because they're kind of like us - limited population means small budgets - but they're more isolated from the American cultural steamroller, so they do amazing things. Story is a whole lot more important when $100M of CGI is not an option.

Any particular movies? I'd love some recommendations I've never seen.

That didn't turn around until the mid-2000s, when the economy in #Saskatchewan had improved under the Sask Party enough that many of those "lost" youngsters, now in their 30s, came back to Saskatchewan to raise families away from Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto.

I am firmly of the belief that driving this entire generation of Saskatchewan youth out of the province was what doomed the #NDP here. It hollowed out rural SK fiercely.

With the dense #smoke from #Canadian #wildfires blanketing #NYC today, I've seen a bunch of comments from #Americans along the lines of "Wow, how bad must in be in Canada?"

This is counter-intuitive, but I'm in the Canadian #prairies. There are wildfires across northern #Saskatchewan, #Alberta, and #BC. And we haven't had any smoke here for weeks.

The smoke can go up into the #atmosphere, drift a long way, and then be pressed down to the ground again by a high-pressure system.

Unfortunately, you're asking the wrong person. I'm not a big fruit person. I don't mind an apple or a banana or maybe an orange once in a while, but I don't eat berries, peaches, mangos, etc, etc.

I'm told by family that like them that Saskatoons are like a more flavourful blueberry; like wild blueberries "but different" 😆

So I've tried them once or twice, but that's it. Some prairie boy here, too.
