Besides DĂșn Scaith on the #IsleOfSkye a second one appears on the Isle of Man as a portal through which #CĂșchulainnâs warriors invaded the #Celtic #Otherworld to gain possession of its magical cauldron of abundance.

By some accounts #ScĂĄthach was also a formidable magician with the gift of prophecy. By other accounts she became the Celtic goddess of the dead, ensuring the passage of those killed in battle to TĂr na nĂg, the Land of Eternal Youth and the most popular of the #Otherworlds in Celtic #mythology.

ScĂĄthach was a legendary warrior queen of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Brave youth would travel to her fortress of DĂșn ScĂĄith, which translates to Castle of Shadows, in hopes that she would train them.

#Mythology: The famous GĂĄe Bulga (Bolga, Bolg) was given to #CĂșChulainn by his teacher, the warrior woman #ScĂĄthach. The GĂĄe Bulga seems to have been a spear or javelin (gĂĄe) that could slice through flesh, thus giving its bearer an immense advantage in battle. CĂșchulainn used it to kill the two men most dear to him: his son Connla and his foster brother Ferdiad.

#CĂșChulainn underwent perfection training in weaponry with the famous warrioress #ScĂĄthach in #Scotland. Despite a promise of chastity to his bride #Emer, #CĂșChulainn impregnated #ScĂĄthach's sister #Aoife there. From this sprang #Conla. When the latter had grown into a "little naughty boy", #CĂșChulainn had to kill him to preserve his honor. A prohibition forbade the greatest hero of #Ulster not only to refuse the duel, but also to be represented by another warrior.

#Celtic #Mythology: #Cuchulainn and #Emer were a childless couple. Since Emer`s father, #Forgall Manach, wanted to prevent the union of the two, he secretly initiated #CĂșChulainn to undergo perfection training in weaponry with the famous warrior #ScĂĄthach in #Scotland. The Lord of Luglochta Logo hoped the rigors would overwhelm the hero of #Ulster and he would be killed. Despite a promise of chastity to #Emer, #CĂșChulainn impregnated #ScĂĄthach's sister #Aoife there.
Possibly #Cuchulainn and #Emer would not have remained childless if in their wedding night the king of #Ulster had not exercised his "right of the first night". While #Conchobar mac Nessa feared # CĂșChulain`s reaction, he would have lost his authority if he had renounced his privilege. To preserve #Emer's virginity, #Conchobar shared the bed with #Cuchulainn's wife on her wedding night, but the #druid #Cathbad slept between them.
