@randynose LOL! Already married to a software engineer who's hugely into MacOS, Linux, and UNIX.🤣 But in all seriousness, I use #Scrivener to write my books and that isn't currently available for Linux. So yeah, that explains it in a nutshell. Scrivener has a higher learning curve than most other writing software; however, the time investment was worth it. It's also the "industry gold standard" for authors/writers. I also use #Scapple and #AeonTimeline, which are also great book-planning tools.

@terryflynn I love#linux and first used it in 1993 at Keele. I ran Slackware on 8MB (yes, mega) of RAM on my home PC and used it to send print jobs to Unix servers at the University (among other things) back when we could ‘finger’ eachother and send out a ‘gopher’.
Unfortunately, as a publishing author, I had to move to #macos to run the tools I need ( #scrivener , #Scapple , #Vellum , editing software, etc.) but I do miss those early days when we were beta testing the WWW.

Having great fun testing out #Scapple - here 1st level notes about weird entitites I was researching a few months back - pretty creepy especially the synthetic thought forms - probably extracted the majority of these from Borges's Manual de Zoologia Fantastica. Wrote these down in a #Rocketbook and transferred over later. Not exhaustive...
