After a 3 year hiatus, I received a letter yesterday inviting me to attend Eye Clinic later this month at a local general hospital. Given the situation with flu, COVID-19, scarlet fever, etc., I’m astonished that mask-wearing is not mentioned at all. The only warnings are that non-attendance will result in discharge and automated reminder alerts will be sent. 😡

My 7 year old son has #fever, #cough & lethargy...took him to #GP & was prescribed #amoxicillan for a chest infection & as he has some #ScarletFever & #StrepA symptoms.

I had to then ring around to see if any local pharmacies had any amoxicillan left as there is such a shortage.

A mum was crying in there as she couldn't get the medicine she needed for her penicillin allergic sick child.

GP said it's the worst she has seen the #NHS in 19 years including during covid. #ToryCriminals #SaveOurNHS

England continues to report increase in group A strep this season

📌 From 12 September to 4 December there have been 6,601 notifications of scarlet fever. This compares to a total of 2,538 at the same point in the year during the last comparably high season in 2017 to 2018.
