#bookstodon Here's a bookish question: Head of #CDC Dr. #RochelleWalensky said she wasn't for recommending us to #MaskUp for protection from #Covid because masks are a #ScarletLetter - I thank maybe if she ever read the Nathaniel Hawthorne novel, it was long ago, and she missed the point that wearing the letter was ulrimately Hester Prynne's path to redemption. Any ideas how to make sense of her analogy?
