I'm hoping #SciComm folks can help spread the word, but the fact that scientists keep finding out this info about #SickleCell means we're getting closer to a cure that doesn't have to be #bonemarrowtransplant. Especially because immunosuppressive drugs can be hard on the body, and from what I hear, don't taste / feel the best.

Recently I saw a toot or a tweet that it would be a real shame if #journalists all go to Post while #scientists all come here to #Mastodon, and I think about that a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of scientists were interviewed on podcasts and in articles because they appeared approachable on Twitter. I myself was approached more than once by a journalist because of something I tweeted, and then I got to do some #SciComm. Wherever we all land, I hope this problem gets figured out.
