Man from Atlantis (1977) was the first of four successful TV-movies, to be followed by an unsuccessful series. It's a reasonably interesting story about a water-breathing man from Atlantis stuck in the modern world. Features a fine mad scientist.

3️⃣ The big twist at the midpoint feels almost unnecessary. Luckily, it doesn't overwhelm the key character arc. We're really invested in this guy's journey; we really care about which path he will choose. A credit to the writing/acting. And the directing by #LeVarBurton.

... they fight for survival in an alien jungle. My god! How is that a #StarTrek story?! The actors have zero chemistry, the princess isn't remotely likeable, and there is way too much skin on display. Meanwhile, back on the ship, the tribunal scene with Archer and T'Pol is daft. And embarrassing to watch.

4️⃣ When does the show get good again? Because, to be honest, I'm starting to lose interest here.
