Going back a wee bit further.
I find one of my favourite #writing practices is to use #pictureprompt for #haiku. Last October I took part in #Scotstober as a means of pushing my writing forward a bit. #Scots is a #language I have been immersed in since birth, and one I love to express myself in.

@santoast It's totally a thing. I started the translation last year as part of #Scotstober on Twitter, and continued with this year's. I'm almost 3/4 of the way through.

Actually, I started a translation back in the late 1980's but that was from English. I subsequently studied Pāli as part of my Master's degree, so I thought I'd give it another go.

@Mizliot My first novel (Cuddies Strip, published 2020) had apologetic apostrophes.

My second novel (Barossa Street, published 2022) doesn't.

That was down to people like @DrMDempster with his #Scotstober event.

I may be engaged in one of the most niche writing genres ever; translating an early Buddhist text, The Dhammapada, into Scots. This started last year on Twitter as my contribution to Michael Dempster's #Scotstober. It's addictive. Once I find I've translated most of a chapter, my (not-real) OCD kicks in and I feel impelled to finish it. And when you have two chapters in a row finished, it's hard not to get started on the next.

Anyway ... here I am after a year with 65% of the text translated.
