I made these years ago as a way of comparing the decoration on the #Netherurd #Newark , #Sedgeford and the #Snettisham Great Torc

But it's just rather pretty in its own right!

Another couple of torcs to introduce you to: Newark (top) & Sedgeford (bottom) torcs.

Newark found in Nottinghamshire in 2005, while Sedgeford found twice - main body in 1965 & then the missing terminal in 2004.

They look similar & are same size, but are different if you look closely. They're also made in very different ways - Sedgeford cast, Newark a hybrid of cast & hammered. A lesson in not trusting decoration, but looking at the tech beneath.
