Our spare part for the in-mast furling arrived! Kudos to SVB for sourcing it and shipping it across Europe.
I've just finished installing it. Bit like building a ship in a bottle, all the work has to be done through a few slots in the mast, only two of which barely fit a hand. Had to remove the furling winch from the mast, too.
Tensioned correctly and ready to raise the sail, but the Mistral is blowing, so not today and probably not tomorrow!

Taking apart the old tack assembly. I have an idea how to repair it with onboard materials (might have to buy some Monel rivets in Olbia).
The stainless parts came off okay and are in good condition. There is enough extrusion left to make something with by extending the bottom.
All depends on if I can drive out the aluminium reinforcement inside the extrusion though. Currently soaking in release penetrant.

Arrived at Porto Brandinghi.
Wind 15 gusting 25 and the deck is covered in dried salt, but pretty anchorage. Will move in a bit later when the daytrippers have left. Maybe can stay here until Friday.
Refreshing swim in 21°C water.
No response from #Selden parts supplier yet for the broken mast furling part.
Peak of the heat wave today 🌞
Oh snap! Current state of our in-mast furling. It appears to have cracked right below the foil tensioning sleeve, so I have some faint hope that it maybe can be fixed without having to crane the rig (mast + furlex + wires) off the boat. Fingers crossed!
Need to drop the sail as the tensioning sleeve is underneath the rolled up sail. No idea how it even managed to roll up like this!
