In fact, if a there is a goal differential of six or more in the third period, the mercy rule kicks in (it's officially called "running time") where the clock continues to run while the play is stopped. For example, if there's an icing, the time keeps running between the whistle and the faceoff

Andover is going into the championship undefeated. Last year they only lost one game all season (the championship).

I love how the players hug each other all the time. And after the game they go hug their friends they know on the other team. So much affection.

The last minute Andover was playing with the benefit of a delayed penalty against Gentry Academy. Andover almost got a buzzer beater but it didn't get into the net before the horn sounded. So Andover doesn't get the goal but they will start the next period with a power play.

Still 1-1.

Fun fact: All 4 head coaches for the Class AA semifinalist teams are women! We've finally got generations of girls growing up on hockey here.
