Since #SergeyLavrov visited South Africa, we've had a distinct uptick in reader complaints about supposed #anti-Russian bias in articles.

Some of it is shouty, some of it is nitpickey. None of it seems fake or engineered, no troll-farm type stuff.

People who write letters to newspapers are a special breed, to be sure, but they can also be a leading indicator of sentiment.

Or, perhaps, indicators of how propaganda efforts are going,

I referenced this in my last post, but wanted to illuminate it further. In January of 2016, Google Translate in Ukraine suffered a comical error in which Russia was translated as “Mordor” and Lavrov as “sad little horse.”
