Last night saw us start a new campaign with the #CurseofStrahd group with a fun #session0 Just as it’s licence ends, we’re dipping deep into Modiphius’ 2d20 #Conan #ttrpg with the “Shadow of the Sorceror”. A new GM (@eladrin) but the rest of the gang remain the same with @TheTweedmeister, Alex and @satbunny as my fellow players. We’ve also switched to the #foundryvtt as it has a Conan module and it‘s the GM’s preferred heavyweight VTT.

Ran a #Session0 for the new #wod #CofD #queer #ttrpg group we’ve gathered. We discussed safety, our premise, and themes. I think it went pretty great. We’re going to do a prequel of teenage mortals at summer camp, for group cohesion, as people are thinking of playing different supernatural templates, with #changelingthelost as the majority. Then jump to the present day. Hoping as GM I can plant a lot of plot seeds and foreshadowing with this premise!

I’ve also been pushing forward with trying to create a 2nd group. We might have finally gotten some traction with forming a #trans rpg group, and I can’t even begin to say how excited I am about. Looks like I’m running (surprise! not surprised), and I’ve already set up a discord server. The energy and vibe is so different. We are doing a #Session0 this Sunday, and talking about playing #WoD with a mix of vampires, changelings, and mages.

Took advantage of last night's game cancellation to sneak in a #Session0 for another game a day early, since everyone could actually attend it at the new time.

I think it's the first *real* session 0 I've done, and we didn't actually "play". Just some setup (picking a VTT to try), "fellowship" creation, character creation, and a little bit of world-building. It went well, and the players came up with a neat, original starting concept. They seemed to love the process.

Just travelling home from Alfacon 2023. Ran a workshop there about Session 0s with the subtitle "I survived yet another meeting that could have been an email" where we discussed what parts of Session 0 could be moved away from the session actual to, for example, email or discord discussions. A lot of stuff that I would have considered essential got cut. I think once I go through the materials we generated, I could have a practical checklist to publish.

On Sunday we plan to start trying out Forbidden Lands, and I am very excited. What is everyone's experiences with putting together a coherent party in that setting? What options should I give the players?

If we like it, I plan to ease the players into the Raven's Purge campaign and add more players.

I have a #Session0 tonight for a new #dnd #campaign!!! So excited!!!

Been a while since I've dabbled in longer form #TTRPG #ActualPlay, but we have a Session 0 tomorrow and I have to say I'm really excited.

But, still a bit insecure... So any tips from people who have run more AP content on what to go through and focus on in a #Session0. Especially in an AP context? Even newbie tricks and tips appreciated, as they'll hopefully reaffirm I'm focusing on the right things already 😀
