This is the Round House on the #Thames and #Severn #canal at #Chalford, in #Gloucestershire.
It's one of five on the canal
which were all constructed in 1790, the year following the canal's opening. They served as lengthsman's cottages. (A lengthsman looked after a section of the canal.)
It's still in use as a private residence.

This seems like an ecological nightmare that shifts the problem.
The capacity for the amount of water transferred is less than that currently leaked by Thames water. Is this just considered because it comes from the tax payer and not water companies with their huge lobbying power!

@magsr It used to be a thing in the other place! Let's try to make it here. My Christmas was spent in Worcestershire where ferns pop out of walls everywhere. This is Wall-rue in a Malvern stone wall and Maidenhair Spleenwort between bricks in Worcester by the River Severn.

Day 16 of the 2022 #dragonfly #AdventCalendar. Scarce Chaser is the least common of our three chaser species. Unlike the others they like slow-flowing rivers rather than ponds.
