It will work really well if people use hashtags (#sfn or better is probably #sfn22) because others can use a filter to ignore those posts, if they want to. This is one aspect of Mastodon that is really great IMO -- muting stuff for specific time periods. If I get tired of seeing poster invites (I won't BTW), I can just filter out #sfn22 for a week).

It's been a whirlwind week.

- I passed my PhD defense yesterday with no corrections.

- Received major revisions on a paper today (but addressable!)

- A revise&resubmit still under review (❓ revisions)

- & flying to #SfN to give a talk.

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about what academia means to me.

At the core of it all, I think I am just addicted to the thrill of discovery & sharing it with others.

Grateful to all the mentors that have supported me along the way🙏
