Shadow of the Tomb Raider was another decent tomb raider game. At this point, they're feeling pretty formulaïc: you have settlements, wilderness/exploration, infiltration/stealth, combat, frantic escape, and of course tombs.
I felt like a lot of work went into the tombs, and I really enjoyed their puzzles. There were some new parkour/climbing mechanics that were interesting, although I felt like it was a bit transparently forgiving about floating Lara to the attach point of the thing she jumped to.
The combat and stealth felt more annoying than in the previous entries, but maybe I'm just tired of them now. There's a new thing where you can harpoon dudes up into a tree without anybody seeing (bad guys don't look up), but none of the fundamental stealth issues have been improved, and the ice axe has even been nerfed. 😐
I liked the originality of the setting, but I wish there had been more than two major locations.
