This has been a rough day… for my gaming budget!

#Dolmenwood and #ShadowOfTheWeirdWizard have both been backed. I had to negotiate this with my wife who astutely noted that supporting real artists like this is probably one of the best ways I could spend my hobby money!

(She only plays #BrindlewoodBay when it comes to #ttrpg, so I feel lucky she supports my love of the art form.)

All in all, I'm intrigued about the final product. I have no experience with its predecessor #ShadowOfTheDemonLord, so I have no frame of reference in regards to that one. But it looks like it could be a really nice #5e-replacement ruleset.

I could live without the verboseness though. It's hard to go back once you've had the taste of the succinctness of rules like #OSE and #Shadowdark. 😆

Just did a quick cursory look over the free quickstart PDF of #ShadowOfTheWeirdWizard. Looks just as verbose and crunchy as #5e (well, perhaps slightly less so), while being more... charming, for the lack of a better word. That "charming" part could entirely be a product of its lovely font choices and the page border design, though. 😅

@LeviKornelsen I’m not sure even *I* can predict what I’d likely talk about, but I’m currently playing in campaigns of #DCCRPG, #OSE, and #DnD5e, and play #CoC and various #Gumshoe games fairly frequently, too.

That said, I’ll try most anything—I’ve been playing since the 1980s, and enjoyed ~110 systems since taking up online #TTRPG in mid-2020.

FWIW, I’m very excited about upcoming Kickstarters for #XCrawlClassics and #ShadowOfTheWeirdWizard, so they’ll likely rate mentions in coming months.

@Gorgmorg It's fantastic, but if it's too dark for you he's got #ShadowoftheWeirdWizard coming out soonish, which is more standard fantasy, although weird.
