Anyone in #Pittsburgh happen to know the name of the mobile deli I've seen on Ellsworth in #Shadyside? I seem to recall it's a blue truck.
I have an inexplicable craving for a Reuben all of a sudden, and I want to look up their schedule. Otherwise maybe Cappy's makes a Reuben?
Seen in #Shadyside #Pittsburgh. Not sure if the soup can is a reference to Andy Warhol or to Trump's claim about protestors throwing soup cans. Maybe both?

Is there some free as in freedom way to get weather closer to #Shadyside #Pittsburgh than Allegheny County Airport 7 miles away and outside of the urban heat island?
Why isn't my door here?

Is there a pool hall in #Shadyside #Pittsburgh? Yelp is not being very helpful.
Turns out you actually *can* get decent #avocado in #Pittsburgh. Just go someplace where the customers actually care about it, like Georgie's Corner Café in #Shadyside. They serve avocado toast after 11AM.

It's 64F and sunny outside here in #Shadyside #Pittsburgh. I have my windows open to keep the house from getting too warm. I'd go for a walk, except my gout is acting up in revenge for my having made Hamburger Helper and eating half of it (it takes a pound of beef).
Just learned from Google News that #Shadyside #Pittsburgh has been under a boil water advisory all day. Would have been nice to know earlier.

There's an application for a permit to put up an apartment building down the street from me. I learned this from a leaflet left by a "concerned neighbor" talking about all the supposed problems this building would bring to the neighborhood, including "increased traffic when traffic has already been made worse by the addition of bike lanes."
I discovered from another neighbor on Twitter that this is in fact not just a random NIMBY homeowner but in fact a landlord who owns multiple multi-unit buildings in the neighborhood. I'm not even sure she actually lives at the address she gave.
So there's someone leafleting the neighborhood opposing the project, but nobody leafleting in favor of it. I'm sure the developer has the resources to leaflet, but I'm sure they know it would not reflect well on them. Meanwhile, this other landlord can leaflet and pretend to be a "concerned neighbor" without having to flat out lie.
And that, my friends, is democracy. Better than all the other systems of government that have been tried from time to time, but still pretty damn shitty. Focused interests (landlords trying to keep rents high) always win out over dispersed ones (renters who want rents to be lower).
Just noticed my basement floor is wet. It must have come from the floor drain, since the entire surface of the grate is wet, so the water level must have been above it. It's still wet so the water level must have gone down below the grate relatively recently. Will have to check with the neighbors and see if they also had issues.
