While I post against adding a feature like quote tweets here on #Mastodon, I usually mention that it is the number one tool (in my opinion) that #twitter implemented that made public shaming explode. And I get that some people are awful and it may seem like they deserve it.

But public #shaming is bad for everyone involved, it is bad for the person doing the initial shaming, it is bad for the person being shamed, and it is bad for the people piling on, feeling like they are actually doing something.

This #book was fascinating and entertaining and I recommend it.
