Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. This is definitely the case for the #Shang dynasty’s concubine turned Priestess, Military General and Queen: Lady Fuhao (died c.1200BCE). The fact that we know quite a lot about her is a fluke of #history. The bigger, grander royal tombs were all raided in antiquity. But Lady Fuhao’s #tomb was discovered pristine - her name engraved in many of her grave goods. Her story told in the oracle bones. This 🧵 tells that story. Photos by me. #China #archaeology

I had #MCU burnout after #Avengers #Endgame (which was disappointing for the way it sidelined the women), but am finally starting to check out Phase 4, and today I binged #WandaVision and watched #Shang-Chi and loved both. I thought I wouldn’t like the latter, based on the marketing, but it was great and not at all what I was expecting. The actors were all amazing. I guess I should watch #Eternals next, but I’ve heard less than great stuff about it.
