❌Fails to create posts on the newly federated account.

(Posts to existing #Mastodon account)
❌ Fails to create posts on linked account.

#ShareOnPixelfed
(Posts to existing #Pixelfed account)
✅ Successfully creates posts on linked account.

Anyone else having issues?
Any solution recommendations?

Version 0.15.0 of Share on Mastodon is out. It comes with a “template” setting, which supports very basic tags. The per-post “custom message” feature has been improved, too. And image alt text is now fetched from the post content (with the Media Library value as a fallback).

Completely overhauled—disclaimer: this version’s not live, yet!—Share on Mastodon’s “image alt text” functions.

It’ll now always parse post content for images, and store each image’s `alt` (if any) attribute, and use that, regardless of what was stored—or _not_ stored, courtesy of the “new” block editor—in `wp_postmeta`.

If you don’t want #ShareOnMastodon for #WordPress sharing “older” posts even as you update them with the sharing checkbox checked (or, alternatively, “share always” enabled), the next version will have the option to share only newly published toots

It will be auto-enabled for brand-new installs only, so as not to break existing behavior.

Enabling it also means that to “re-share” a post, you’ll be required to unpublish and republish it as well as remove the previous Mastodon URL.

Pushed v0.12.1 of Share on Mastodon yesterday.

Whats happening with the writing of code to solve the "Share On Mastodon" need? What code do sites use to offer a click, share button for Mastodon. All sites share, none share on Masto.

A generic mastodon server for all shares? Click to cut and paste the story, fit for a Mastodon toot?

Or a click that produces the below / copied to the clipboard?

So right now, #IndieWeb and #ActivityPub won't actually do more for you than #MicroBlog membership and the #ShareOnMastodon plugin BUT they have the potential to do more if the developers focus more on making it so that we at least get the same thing from them for our site identities that our meat connected identities get from Share on Mastodon. And #SyndicationLinks needs to post a link to where we can get the dang token. /end rant
