Would love one but many roads here in Knox County #maine (including the one we live off) have little or no shoulder and blind, tight curves.

It's even a #maine state (numbered) route which apparently doesn't imply minimal standards for safe #cycling

We published this in the Pushpins blog more than a year ago, but what urban planner and cyclist Keisha Mayuga said will always ring true: “We have to understand that the road is built for people to move, so we have to respect one another no matter what transport mode we choose.”

@Ny_jc_gal_76 Spending time in #NewMexico where all the above is true. Ancient pueblo indians provide lessons on density, walkability, heating and cooling. All ignored by most. Seeing many #ShareTheRoad signs but think it half hearted when people are buying high front vehicles, driving them fast. #SantaFe has icy sidewalks, narrow sidewalks. Lots of parking lots.

That’s twice in two days I saw pedestrians in crosswalks almost run over by careless cars. This morning someone likely rushing to the train I’m on didn’t look when turning onto Smith Street; yesterday it was my aunt crossing Hope Street in a crosswalk. Watch out! #ShareTheRoad #pedestrians should be able to cross the street safely! No train is worth rushing those extra 5 seconds, seriously. (Also I was behind you, and am here on the train.)

A #GhostBike is erected at the site where a cyclist met his/her death. They are decorated by friends and family with the possessions of the deceased and serve as a reminder to #ShareTheRoad 🚴‍♀️🚴🚴‍♂️

You try signaling to the driver in the lane next to you, that their jacket belt is dangling out of the bottom of the car door, and dragging in the salty slushy road muck.
They give you the finger, and all is right with the world.
