Nuclear Waste Scholar Series: The Wound at the Heart of the World

Roger Peet will discuss the Shinkolobwe mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo that sourced nearly all of the uranium used in the Manhattan Project. His presentation will describe the arc of #Shinkolobwe’s history and its direct connection to the Hanford Site. Roger will also display an original linocut map-print that traces the global journey of the uranium ore.
