Looking at the way photographers photograph moving water is quite interesting. In order to give the impression of rapid, gushing motion, the exposure should be longer and so, rather than photographing in #AutomaticMode, it is better to use #ShutterPriority and adjust #ShutterSpeed to achieve the desired effect.
Here the shutter speed in automatic mode is 1/100 s.

2023 Photo Challenge 165/365
This was delay as I broke my habit with some weekend plans and need to start taking photos again.
Today it is raining so was having trouble finding things to photograph that was meaningful. I went back to basics to practice shutter speed. With the cloudy sky I also messed with delays. #car #shutterspeed #stoptime #2023photochallenge

I wasn't a fan of how the white backlight looked so I switched it to blue. There were a lot of shots like this where I missed the drop. I like this one seeing in the reflection the splash. #water #shutterspeed #macro #macrophotography #shutterspeedphotography #photoexperiement #2023photochallenge

2023 Photo Challenge 110/365
This was a fun shot but hard to get. I had a set up where the bag was dripping, light was in the back, tupperware everywhere. Water splashing all over. But I would like to try it again with a more stable structure and better water controlling. #water #shutterspeed #macro #macrophotography #shutterspeedphotography #photoexperiement #2023photochallenge

I love taking waterfall photos, but there is something special about taking them up in the White Mountains, in New Hampshire. The water is so intensely blue. #waterfalls #waterfall #water #photo #photography #photos #landscape #landscapephotography #NH #NewHampshire #WhiteMountains #hiking #snow #shutterspeed #SlowShutter #winter #NewEngland

The first is with a #ShutterSpeed of 1/6 s. The lit part of the Moon is a white featureless blob but, because it’s a #misty #night, there’s a wonderful #ice #halo which shows #colours from the #VisibleSpectrum. You can see Jupiter directly above.

Tonight, the #Moon is right in the body of the #constellation #Virgo in its #Waxing #Gibbous #Phase. I think its another nicely detailed #photograph of the #lunar surface and you can really make out quite a lot of features on this #cropped #image. #ISO 250, F5.7, #ShutterSpeed: 1/800 s and #FullZoom

Today the #Moon is between #Leo and #Virgo and has just past its #FirstQuarter #phase. #ShutterSpeed: 1/160 s, F5.7, #ISO 250.

I took this #photograph of the #Moon at #dusk this evening in the #southern #sky. Although the sky appears black, it still had colour but I shot it in #ManualMode with a #ShutterSpeed of 1/1250 s and F5.6 with an #ISO of 250. This is the first of what I would call a successful attempt at #LunarPhotography by me. The images are identical but with different degrees of #image #cropping, without enlarging the image.
