#Bakhmut, where only a few thousand of 70,000 residents still live, has been contested since late summer. The city is main part of defense line between #Siversk and Bakhmut in #Donetsk Oblast established after Russians conquest of #Sieverodonetsk and #Lysychansk. If city falls, Russian troops will have access to major cities of #Sloviansk and #Kramatorsk. With this, a complete conquest of Donetsk region is approaching.
