I guess today is #caturday so here’s one from #SixAges: Ride Lke the Wind and one from Six Ages 2: Lights Going Out (Redalda introduced the alynx, or shadowcat, to your clan).

Today playtesters sent in duplicate bugs for two issues we couldn’t reproduce. The additional data let me spot the pattern of events that led up to the problem, and I think I was able to fix both of them. Thanks to Hayden and James (and to the playtesters who sent in the original reports and duplicates)! #SixAges 2
We’re happy to announce that Six Ages 2: Lights Going Out, the newest installment in the #SixAges series and in the lineage of King of Dragon Pass, will release on August 21 on PC and Mac via Steam and GOG, as well as iOS devices! A demo of the game is now on Steam for a limited time.
The world is ending, and your small clan’s survival depends on you…
Wishlist the game on Steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/2278010/Six_Ages_2_Lights_Going_Out/ or GOG https://www.gog.com/en/game/six_ages_2_lights_going_out, or pre-order on the App Store https://apps.apple.com/app/six-ages-2-lights-going-out/id1231955010
If you’re releasing a game on the App Store, it’s a good idea to submit it well in advance of your intended release date. This allows time for the approval process, and lets you deal with any issues Apple may find. (In our case, a 3rd party library had privacy implications, so we had to submit a new build without it.)
At least the wait time is shorter than past years, less than 24 hours. We’ll submit at least one more build before release, but having approval lets us breathe easier. #SixAges
Although #SixAges 2 already has a store page on Steam and GOG, we haven’t set one up for the App Store (since they don’t support wishlists). But as we get closer to release, it’s time to do this. Got two of the many sizes of screenshots done today.
#SixAges 2 is now content complete! Just got the last piece of art today.
Wishlist the game or check out the demo https://store.steampowered.com/app/2278010/Six_Ages_2_Lights_Going_Out/ (the game will also be available on GOG and the iOS App Store).
This week we hit a development milestone: all of the events in #SixAges 2 have been tested. In what we sometimes call “tree testing,” QA went through each response of each event. There’s still a lot of “forest testing” needed, to see how the events work as a set, and with different situations, but it’s something we like to complete before release.
We’re finally ready to open Six Ages 2 up to outside testing. We’re looking for a few people who can play the game on iPad or iPhone (Windows and Mac will come later). If you can play at least a few hours in the next couple weeks, are willing to give feedback, and agree not to talk about the game, then email bugz@a-sharp.com with “Six Ages 2 Playtest” as the subject. Let us know what device you’ll play on (and whether you’ve played the first #SixAges game or King of Dragon Pass).
Just finished coding what’s probably the last illustrated event for #SixAges 2: Lights Going Out. Exactly how many can be tricky to count, but by one measure it’s 643. (Six Ages: Ride Like the Wind had 450.)
King of Dragon Pass has 575 scenes, so to use its definition, Six Ages 2 has 551 (compared to 375 in the first game).
We learned yesterday that our bug tracking system wasn’t able to send email to some of you (both automated acknowledgements and requests for additional information). It should now be configured properly. Sorry if we didn’t get back to you — we’d still love to get your feedback on the #SixAges 2 demo (or any issues you find in Ride Like the Wind).
El Runeblogger played the #SixAges 2 demo. “Unsurprisingly, I am already hooked.” https://elruneblog.blogspot.com/2023/06/six-ages-lights-going-out-first.html
#BugOfTheDay In #SixAges 2, after an event kills your chief, they can lead a toast to the fallen.
