The new Sixtyclone C64 motherboard I started soldering a couple of weeks back is done, all that's missing is the modulator replacement. At first I wasn't convinced of the colour, but seeing it in black and gold I must say it's a beauty.😍
I'm still missing all the small caps, EMs, and small chips as well as all the plug sockets.
Sadly there are no modern replacements for the 252535 Super PLA and the two MOS6526 CIA chips.

My weekend soldering project: A remake of the last #C64 mobo #commodore ever made, assy 250469 rev. B. This is #sixtyclone made by Rob Taylor. Not done yet, or even cleaned. I didn't really plan on making this now, so it's all parts from my parts bin and spare boards. Kind of like the row of old brown EMI filter caps I salvaged.

Brilliant #ARM2SID by @nobomi64 installed 🥰 Now I have emulation of 3 SIDs or SID+FM. Cable management thanks to nylon braid and the CPU adapter. No more chaos and soldering to chips pins...

Simple idea, but it works well. The A5-A8 and RW signals are led out so you don't have to solder the wires to the motherboard or use the clip-on probes. For solutions like #ARM2SID, #MixSID, #SIDKick etc.

#SixtyClone More testing... Serial port works. After some adjustments modulator replacement prototype works too. The image is sharp and clear. A separate stereo output allows you to connect HiFi set ans enjoy the SIDs 😊
