This is so sad. I personally have heard of two women in their 90's being evicted from their rented properties this week!! One because the property was needed to fund care for the owners wife.

Trade union Unison has written to the social care minister, accusing social care operators of “shocking abuse” of migrant workers, who are allegedly being forced to pay back thousands of pounds in recruitment fees, housed in substandard accommodation & asked to work 80-hour weeks.

Nurses hired from #India to work for one of Britain’s biggest childrens social care chains, #CambianCare, have been left in debt and are, in some cases, suicidal after being stranded without pay for months.

Cambian childrens services is owned by #Caretech, whose latest accounts show it made £79.5m profit in the year to September 2021, up 49% on the year before, with revenue from its children’s division accounting for about 55% of the total.

The police visited five weeks ago. Nothing appears to have happened. My new advocate & I worked on a fresh letter. Tomorrow my advocate will be contacting my G.P. (family doctor) to find out why no-one has arranged for the district nurse to ensure I am medicated and to get it sorted out. FIVE months without #SocialCare (food, water, hygiene, etc.) and more importantly without medication including the anti-anxiety meds that are supposed to stop me from killing myself…
