Heh, #linux is erg fijn.

So, I've already mentioned before that I use Logitech's wireless devices a lot with Linux Desktop thanks to Solaar project.
And it just have stricken me that I've paid more than $1k total for Logitech devices and some part of that money went to fund the development of their proprietary software for Windows and macOS and none was spent to fund their Open Source substitute for Linux.
Shall we file a petition or something regarding this?

‘Solaar’ Makes Managing Logitech’s Unifying Receiver Easy on Linux
If you use Logitech's Unifying Receiver on Linux check out the open source 'Solaar' app. It makes it easier to pair and manage wireless keyboard and mice.

Received a new Logitech mouse and keyboard from work recently, MX Keys. One of the first things I wanted to do was pair both to the same receiver.
Expecting the usual trial of passing a USB device to a windows VM to run some proprietary software, on a whim did a quick package search for Logitech. I found #Solaar, not even an AUR package, it's in the community repo.

Blown away by how good this bit of software is. If you're using #Logitech peripherals, check it out.
@joeligj12 lol just realized the double meaning! It's a bluetooth dongle, like the ones you configure with #solaar
Man, gotta love those #Logicool unifying receiver devices, even more because I find so many of them #dumpsterdiving.
So tonight I found a complete keyboard + mouse pair, but upon testing discovered some keys are dead... Pyrrhic victory, though: the mouse is still in!
And if we need some Free Software to configure them, there is: #Solaar.

@metalune happened to me too. Ran `pacman -Qi python-xliib` which listed info on what was that package doing in my system in first place.
Then I found out that it was installed as a dependency for #solaar (the logicool device manager thing) and I realized oh well, it's a nice program but I don't reeeally need it. So I uninstalled solaar, alongside this package, and after that everything was alright.
Unfortunately, #solaar didn't run on Alpine (something of a dependency satisfaction issue and pip wouldn't compile the module under musl, it seems?), but the Arch package worked perfectly!
Solaar is well built and detected the devices perfectly (even pointing out how much charge the replaceable batteries had!), and worked even better than the Logitech Windows client IMO (faster, and more featureful). Props to the devs!
#solaar, the Linux-native utility to configure wireless #logitech devices is available on #AlpineLinux!
This is so handy because of the numbers of these devices I sometimes find on the trash. Now I don't have to borrow a windows laptop to do this stuff. Schweet!

#TIL about #Solaar: a Linux-native program to manage Logitech Wireless Devices (like mice and keyboards).

This is really great because I find many of these unifying devices thrown in the trash around here, but so far only could use a Windows proprietary program to configure them. Dumpster Diving has just taken a whole new dimension!
