What is not sustainable, by definition, is non-renewable energy.

Our solar panel system installation is now complete with a Tesla Powerwall 2. The app shows that in the three days since going properly live we used 58% solar energy and 42% from the grid. Not bad I guess, considering the short days, and how hugely overcast with heavy rain the weather has been.

Still learning about our system, so I won't be taking questions at this time! Also, weather too ghastly to go out and take photos 😟

Only one day to go on. Interesting that the graph is kind of right, just off by an hour or two.

The forecast for our area is rarely accurate, so this is not too surprising :)

Also interesting to see that the forecast wasn't static from the start of the day. There is an obvious uptick in the latter part of the day.

Time will tell how accurate & useful this will be.

I've added weather forecast, for solar energy production, to my Home Assistant instance.
If it proves to be accurate, it may help guide when we use energy hungry appliances from one day to the next.
