It’s nearly the March equinox and sunrise here is at 8am. DST + being in the wrong time zone makes Indiana really out of sync with solar time.

Check your times for sunrise, solar noon, and sunset here:

@rdaily He looks pissed.

(DST was a bad idea, permanent DST is a newer bad idea.)

@jensilber @gbhnews @jaspar I've toyed with proclaiming the Somerville Meridian, centered on Prospect Hill. (Lots of great cities have had their own meridian, why shouldn't Somerville!?) Get clocks prominently labeled "Somerville Standard Time", all synchronized to SST, put them in prominent locations.

SST would be about 12-minutes east of EST, maybe you would like that?

@xanderleadaren I was curious about Esperanto and found you through search, what caught my eye was might you have any links or blogs to share? I would like to learn more about adopting it.

Today is the last day of or for this year and the clocks will go back to or tomorrow. I always find this transition rather grim as suddenly as it’s suddenly getting dark in mid afternoon. But really, there shouldn’t be any need for at all. We should keep solar time all year around and then the transition would be more gradual and bearable and we would still have the possibility of getting up when it’s light rather than before .
