2/ Alan worked 30 more years in the glass container industry and enjoyed almost 30 years of retirement. His brother George worked most of his career at the Fawley Oil Refinery, UK’s largest. Robert worked on the QE2’s engines which propelled it over 2.6 million nautical miles, and received an MBE in recognition of his lifelong labours.

I used to follow Pete Seeger to folk fests & small venue concerts when I was younger — he'd often show up w/ wife, Toshi, & sometimes grandson, Tao. We'd all shlep gear from the van to the performance space. The best places (IMO) were classrooms & other small, intimate venues where we'd sit & talk after the music. Hope some of his spirit and optimism rubbed off on me. 😊
