An Oath is a long term goal a Knight has sworn to pursue to completion. Generally an Oath will take a long time (multiple sessions of play, possibly across several worlds) to complete and the best course to pursue is not always obvious. While a Knight may have multiple active oaths in the fiction, the character they will only be pursuing the Oath on their character sheet mechanically, and will only change that Oath when it has been resolved or the Knight Forsakes it.
A Belief is a guiding principle that dominates a Knight’s view of the world. It may not be universally applicable to all of life, but it is relevant to the portions of life the Knight wants to pursue while they have the Belief.
In play, the Guide should seek opportunties to put all of the Knights’ Beliefs to the test. Seek opportunities to make remaining true to a Belief difficult, awkward or downright problematic for the Knight.
