Storywood sells their #Speyside tequilas that are aged in Speyside Scotch barrels. It brings an amazing flavor to it, and it's just divine!

Highly recommend if you haven't tried it. I first got a taste from a UK-based Tequila Advent Calendar, and I've fallen in love!

Eine der wenigen unabhängigen Destillerien.
Dazu mit Jahrzehnten an Erfahrung (und Fässern) mit Sherry-Vorbelegung, lange bevor es Mode wurde.
Ein klein wenig Rauch dabei.
Dunkle Glasflasche. Hier wird der Inhalt und der Ruf angeboten und nicht versucht über möglichst dunkelbraune Flüssigkeit Qualität zu suggerieren.
Leider steigen auch hier die Preise.
Trotzdem sehr empfehlenswert.

@CactusHaiku @Erstkate i never drank whisky- bar Irish coffee - til i lived in Scotland on a very wet and windy isle north of #Islay. I think that’s where i was introduced to the smokies, them being local and me working in a hotel.

But I’m more of a wine drinker here in Oz, except for the occasional wee dram. Will try the #Speyside next time.

In general if you’re fairly new to #SingleMalt or prefer you #whisky, milder and smoother, you’re better off with #Speyside whiskeys (IMO). I certainly preferred them when I was first trying scotch whisky.
#Islay Single Malts have a lot of peat and are a much more acquired taste. I tend to prefer them now ~ 🥃🥃
Best neat, or with just a thimbleful of room temp water.

Schotland in de herfst is bijzonder mooi. In september waren we in #Edinburg en omstreken. Deze foto is uit eerdere jaren en is van de river Spey gelegen in de #Speyside, daar waar de Malt whisky trail omheen cirkelt. Als je ooit besluit om #Schotland met een bezoek te vereren, doe dat dan in het voorjaar of najaar.
