OK, this is an absolute first for me. There is always, always, one last spool with 40-80 yds left on it. This time, it was 2 4 oz balls, spun over 4 spools (Clemes and Clemes spools are on the small size). By the time I got through all 4 spools, only about 6" difference! And for those following at home: yes, dear Ms. S is functioning just fine, the problem was (new) user error. @spinning @spinningyarn

Well the first completed yarn off the new Majacraft Suzie (Spun my Clemes and Clemes but plyed on the Suzie.) 2-ply Corriedale with a hint of Firestar named Marianas Trench from Wild Wool Farm

Unfortunately, dear Suzie has a problem-I can't get the flyer off, and there is probably a problem that is going to mean replacing a part - Response from the dealer from has been quick, but no idea how long to resolution. See? Another reason for multiple wheels 😁

: My Brand Origin

Meet my Little Grace .

She is a beautiful little wheel. But she is special to me because she belonged to my Mum. I remember watching her spin as a child.

She died 6 years ago, but she feels closer when I am at her wheel. And I have fallen in love with this craft too.

& Something I've learned is to follow what you love and you will find joy in what you make.

And so Little Grace Yarn was born.

Beautiful soft & squishy . Ready for a hat I have in mind for a good friend.

I've had a bit of a crash this week, which meant being unable to do much. But I find I can still or as it doesn't require me to stand. It's so good for my state of mind to be able to do something and I think spinning is soothing for my .

update. Now switching to these laceweight yarns. The orange one is one I dyed myself! I need to do a proper writeup but a couple of years back i did a video of the process (uncaptioned, sorry 😔) instagram.com/tv/CFD-35RJt9_/? there are other local dyers (they even sell their stuff iirc) but I'm quite proud of this project because i was like, ok fine we don't do wool & acid dyes but we have an extensive industry, surely the more affordable dyes here could work too?? It's a bit challenging because manufacturers have a different dyeing practice with their reactive dyes (so no emphasis to exhaust the dye bath for e.g.) and they tend to sell as repacks (so i don't have exact manufacturer details) but it worked out. Now i have to spin enough plain yarn for the next dyeing project... 😅

It means I'm much slower with this compared to and but as a personal compromise to weaving, it does look good. Even if i made a booboo with the honeycomb stitch count (the beginning rows), but it's my own pattern so I decided to 'reset' with a couple of Afghan stitch rows. And these are all my own yarn I spun wheeeee

My new spindles arrived, but just as importantly the yarn I'm spinning is really hitting the colour notes I want (which is translating the colour palette from 's "water lilies" into yarn). Idk it just came to me when I was mixing the lavender and neon fibre tops - I realized if I added a deep blue that would be the piece this yarn is reminding me of.
