“The results have application far beyond the way football players are perceived. According to [Dr. Ladan] Shams, they can inform how the brain establishes implicit bias in decision-making. ‘If the brain is so good at finding these patterns and regularities in numbers and size,’ Shams said, ‘then the brain is also very good at finding other kinds of relationships, and those relationships are what is believed to give rise to implicit bias.'"

In our recently published study, Dr. Ali Forbes and I examined a camera technique known as a "hero shot” as a visual frame in . We analyzed heroic imagery of former American professional cyclist Lance Armstrong shot between 1999 and 2010. Our results were striking because of what became public knowledge about Armstrong after these shots were captured - and used in future news packages. So much to break down: Joshua Winquist's hat trick; forcing turnovers; Daniel Maggio's fight; Rylan Parenteau's third-period heroics; Tye Felhaber; back-to-back victories.
Oh, and the Komets defeated the Walleye 7-4 at the Huntington Center. journalgazette.net/sports/prof
