anyway, the contour detection is meant to be an aid for adding the #SVG paths; I can always tweak, fix and add paths myself in #Inkscape and directly in the XML source whenever the tool doesn't suffice. I guess I shouldn't expect it to be a magic bullet.

I'm currently working on a browser-based #FindTheDifferences game (see my Secret of Mana spot-the-difference version as an example), and I'm now at a point where I can start looking for more #drawings to use.

And this is where I hope you can maybe help me out?

I'm looking for #CreativeCommons licensed drawings, photos or other kinds of pictures that come in sets of two where the second has a couple of differences.
The images do have to line up, as I use an offline image comparison script to detect / extract the differences.

While I'm looking for all sorts of images with varied levels of difficulty, I'm especially interested in #colourful drawings aimed at young kids, which I could play with our almost-four-year-old.

Do you have some? Do you know of a collection of such #SpotTheDifferences images that isn't copyright-encumbered? I'd love to hear from you. :D

This evening I started #coding on my "Find it" or "Spot the differences" kind of game, after seeing #BeardGrabber get rather excited over playing a similar thing with me through a YouTube video we came across, and not being able to find decent free alternatives.

Several hours later I think I have something quite presentable already. So, here is my Secret of Mana-inspired find-the-differences game which runs in your browser.

No third party resources; just some javascript for detecting clicks and toggling visibility of markers indicating successful guesses and updating the counters, and an SVG that contains the two pictures and the difference markers.

Can you find all 12 differences?

(It definitely could still use some improvements, such as maybe have an option of putting the images below each other instead of side-by-side, and looking into accessibility improvements, and making it easier to add your own images, but this #toy will primarily be for me and kiddo to enjoy.)
