New to the fleet is #BR143 250, a locomotive wearing a unique special livery based on the original livery of its class to advertise DB's rental service for old traction.

It's presented alongside 143 821, a member of the class sporting the most recent DB Regio red livery and accompanied by historic green DR coaches that this locomotive often hauled when it wore this livery for the first time under DR, even though nowadays 143 250 of course hauls modern coaches and occasionally freight.

Vehicle maintenance also commenced with cleaning the wheels of the BR 143 locomotive from rubber residue that caused poor contact during the last running session. Another part of maintenance is that all stock capable of running goes out for a spin roughly twice a year at least, so some veteran East German models were also set in motion. I will admit that while the stock consists of DR coaches, they are era-inappropriate as the livery on them is at least a decade too new for the livery featured on the locos.

Finally for the fun part: I've set up a 140 km/h capable five car double deck rake for the first time using the three additional green liveried double deck cars, they ran in this mixed fashion in service at the turn of the century. Haulage provided by the BR 111 which performed splendidly. On the neighboring track sits the freshly cleaned BR 143 with its set of slightly older 120 kmh fast double deck coaches.

Wandering around with the throttle on my phone (and not on a tight cable) has me try out some other places for videos, so heres the #Traxx venturing around the inner circle on DCC guidance for the first time with 383 110 in action on the outer circle, sadly with completely incorrect coaches for now but what a nice loco to drive!

Although nothing fundamentally new in this one as I could've filmed the exact same video on classic DC operations.

#DCC supply using DCC-EX with an #Arduino Mega as a control station has been connected to the outer circuit and so we get to see the Wittenberger cab car with its lights on for the first time :)

Heute habe ich die letzten Loks, Wagen und Starter-Packungen meiner #Maerklin Digitalanlage über eBay verkauft. Gedacht war die HO Anlage ursprünglich für meine beiden Buben, doch die haben leider kein Interesse gezeigt und die Anlage hat die letzten zwei Jahre meist im Schrank verbracht. Nun ist das Kapitel Modellbahn abgeschlossen und ich bin froh, dass ich alle Züge und Schienen bei begeisterten Modelleisenbahnern untergebracht habe. 🚂

More Mint-liveried coaches join the fleet. As flexible resources they can either join the single-deck n-Wagen consist with the Wittenberger cab car that I presented in my last #modeltrains related post, or mix into the consist of red liveried consist as was common practice during the transition era between both liveries at the turn of the century, commonly hauled by a class 111 electric locomotive, the current sole representative of this class in my fleet being already earmarked for DCC fitment.

Fazit des Tages:

1. bin ich wohl nach wie vor richtig auf #SpurH0 als jemand, der sich vor allem für Fahrzeuge interessiert. Hier sind sie nicht zu fummelig, nicht zu teuer, und etwas Fahrbetrieb in der eigenen Wohnung ist Platzmäßig grad noch drin.
Die Fahrzeuge der größeren Spuren sind natürlich cool, aber dann brauchts wirklich nen Garten. #SpurN würde ich vielleicht noch sehen, wenn sich das Interesse zu realistischeren Gleisanlagen und Zuglängen ändern sollte, hier scheint die Fahrzeugauswahl ja auch recht gut für mein Interessengebiet, und es gibt im Gegensatz zu H0 mit seinen unzähligen Subsystemen weitgehend eine Spur N Weltweit der alle Hersteller folgen

2. Verein in meiner Nähe kann ich vergessen, nur Dampf und Schmalspurdampf hier 🥱

3. viele der gezeigten H0-Anlagen, selbst die riesige Modulbahn, fuhren Analog. Ganz so tot wie manche sagen ist das also nicht.

Also falls jemand zufällig Lust hätte, eine richtig coole Adapterplatine für #PLUX16 auf #Next18 zu fertigen: So ein 100 Ω-Widerstand und eine Diode zwischen Pin 9 (U+) und Pin 6 (C+) hätten als SMD-Variante absolut immer genug Platz und wären ultranice...

And straight out of the museum collection comes the authentic East German class 244, one of the oldest models I own, pulling era-appropriate Deutsche Reichsbahn coaches, making a brief encounter with the APT-P in the curve. Obviously in reality, those two never met.

Sharing some familiarities with the APT-P is the German #ET403, in reality also a short lived high speed train with tilting that made passengers sick and was soon disabled. Lasting some more years in actual passenger service than the APT-P, it also wears one of the best liveries ever concieved by its operator, Deutsche #Bundesbahn

A look back to 2021 with some moving images from my layout, which has been the same green plate for several years now.

The videos include the infamous #BritishRail #APT-P which honestly is my favourite british train by design and I'm delighted I was able to visit the real one in Crewe last summer! The model is from Hornby back when the original still ran and it features functional tilting.
